God Rules.

“Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures through all generations.” - Psalm 145:13

These are strange days. One look at the nations of the world, and one can be confounded, frightened, and appalled all at the same time. Leaders resigning, rulers at war, politicians jostling for perceived power…it is enough to leave us weary and wondering how it all plays out for us.

But God rules. God is in charge. His kingdom is everlasting and His dominion endures through all generations. It is tempting to look back to “the way things were.” And yet God is as much sovereign and omnipotent (all-powerful) now as He was at any point in history. And that will not change in the future.

What then is our response? First, worship. Our God is King over all. He loves us and we belong to Him. We need to pour out praise and thanksgiving to Him. Second, do not worry about the unknown. No matter what happens in this life, our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20). And third, pray for the nations of the world. Pray that they would humble themselves before Jesus the King of kings and lead in this world in light of His example.
